About Pool on Suvi
Pool on Suvi is a frame of UK-style eight-ball on a table drawn for a phone held upright: seven reds, seven yellows and the black. Break from behind the baulk line with the white in hand. The table stays open until someone pots a ball after the break, and that colour is theirs. Clear your seven, then pot the black to win; pot the black too early and you lose. The balls roll with real physics: cut a ball at an angle and it goes where the line says, hit it full with no spin and the white stops dead, use follow to run through or draw to bring it back. Play the computer at Easy, Medium or Hard, a friend on one phone, or a friend online by link.
How to play
- Press anywhere on the table and drag: the cue aims from the white towards your finger. A guide shows the ball you'll hit and where it will go.
- For the last fraction of a degree, drag the Fine strip beside the table up or down.
- Pull the power bar down and let go to shoot. The further you pull, the harder the shot; slide back up to cancel.
- Pot a ball after the break to claim its colour, keep going while you pot yours, then pot the black to win.
- Hit the wrong ball first, hit nothing or pot the white, and your opponent gets the white anywhere on the table.
Controls
On a phone or tablet: Drag on the table to aim, drag the Fine strip to fine-tune, then pull the power bar down and let go. Tap the cue ball button for follow or draw. With the white in hand, drag it where you want it.
On a desktop: Point at the table to aim and click to lock it, then pull the power bar down with the mouse. Or use the keys: left and right to aim (Shift for bigger steps), up and down for power, S for spin and Space to shoot. H asks for a hint.
Tips
- The yellow line shows where the object ball will go. Line it up with the pocket's middle, then use the Fine strip.
- Pace matters: a soft pot leaves the white near the middle of the table, a hard one sends it round the cushions.
- With no spin, a full hit stops the white dead. Follow runs on after the ball, draw pulls the white back towards you.
- Ball in hand? Put the white straight behind an easy pot, a little way back.
- Nothing on? Play a soft shot that just touches one of yours. Missing your colour is a foul.
Questions
- What rules does this use?
- UK-style eight-ball, kept simple: the table is open after the break, the first ball potted after it decides the colours, a foul gives your opponent the white anywhere on the table, and potting the black wins once your colour is cleared.
- What happens if the black goes in early?
- You lose the frame. The one exception is the break: a black potted on the break goes back on its spot and play carries on.
- How good is the computer?
- Easy pots the easy ones and misses plenty. Medium plays a fair frame. Hard aims tightly and plays for position with follow and draw. All three miss like people do, so every frame is different.
- Can two people play on one phone?
- Yes. Choose Two players and pass the phone over when the turn changes. Each panel shows that player's colour and how many balls they have left.
- Can I play a friend online?
- Yes: choose With a friend and send the link. You each shoot on your own phone and see every shot roll on both.
- Is it free?
- Yes, every game, with no account and nothing to download.
