About Archery on Suvi
This page opens online archery with a friend. Send a link and shoot a five-end match on your own phones, wherever you both are: your friend taps it and the match starts. You see their arrows land as they shoot, in the same wind you had, the totals update for both of you, and Rematch is one tap when it's over. No account and no download; online play asks once for a date of birth (it isn't open to under-13s). Only people you send the link to can join.
How to play
- Press and hold on the target: an aiming mark appears just above your finger.
- Check the wind (the flag, the arrow and the speed) and steer the mark upwind of the gold. It drifts like a real hand, and more the longer you hold.
- Let go to shoot. The wind carries the arrow on its way, and its score pops up where it lands.
- Three arrows an end, then the other player shoots. After five ends the higher total wins; a tie is a one-arrow shoot-off.
Controls
On a phone or tablet: Hold your finger on the target, steer the mark (it sits just above your finger), let go to shoot.
On a desktop: Move the mouse to aim and click to shoot, or use the arrow keys to aim and Space to shoot. H asks for a hint.
Tips
- Aim into the wind: if the flag streams to the right, aim left of the gold.
- A strong wind (5 or 6 m/s) moves an arrow nearly two rings; a light one hardly at all.
- Watch where your first arrow of an end lands, then correct the next two: the wind stays the same for the whole end.
- Don't hold too long: aim, let your hand settle for a moment, then let go.
Questions
- How is it scored?
- Each ring is worth from 10 in the middle to 1 on the outside edge, and missing the face scores nothing. The small X ring in the center counts 10. Five ends of three arrows make a best possible score of 150.
- What happens if it's a tie?
- A shoot-off: one arrow each, and the one closer to the center wins. An X beats a 10. If both are exactly as close, the match is a draw.
- How does the wind work?
- Each end has its own wind, the same for both players. It pushes every arrow mostly sideways, a little up or down, by up to about two rings in a strong wind. The flag leans with it and the arrow and speed tell you exactly which way and how hard.
- How good is the computer?
- Easy hits the target most of the time but often forgets the wind; Medium shoots like a steady club archer; Hard reads the wind well and scores mostly 10s and 9s. All three miss like people do, so every match is different.
- Can I play a friend?
- Yes. Two players can share one phone and take turns, or choose With a friend and send a link: you each shoot on your own phone and see the other's arrows land.
- Is it free?
- Yes, every game, with no account and nothing to download.
