About Mini Golf on Suvi
This page opens straight into a round of crazy golf for two players on one device: on the sofa, in the pub or on a long train ride. Play the hole out, pass the phone, and watch the other ball roll. Both totals and this hole's strokes sit above the course, and the scorecard comes up after every hole, so there's no arguing about who's ahead. Bank off the walls, keep out of the water, mind the slope, and thread the windmill's door. Type your names and the score keeps count across rounds. Playing alone? The computer putts at three levels, and a friend far away can join by link.
How to play
- Press on the course, pull back like a catapult and let go: the ball goes the opposite way to your pull.
- The further you pull, the harder the putt. A short line shows your aim and a bar shows the power.
- Play the hole out: putt again from wherever the ball stops until it drops in the cup.
- Water puts your ball back where it was, plus a stroke. Sand slows it right down; arrows show a slope's push.
- After six holes, the lowest total wins. Each hole's strokes go on the scorecard.
Controls
On a phone or tablet: Press anywhere on the course, pull back, and let go to putt. The power bar shows how hard.
On a desktop: Drag back with the mouse and let go, or use the arrow keys (left and right to aim, up and down for power) and Space to putt. H asks for a hint.
Tips
- Pace beats power: a ball that would roll a little past the hole drops; one that would roll a long way past doesn't.
- Walls are your friend. On the dogleg, bank off the cut corner instead of going the long way round.
- On the slope, aim uphill of the cup and let the push bring it round.
- At the bridge, there's no shame in laying up: a short putt to line up, then straight through.
- Stuck? A hint shows the line the Hard computer would take, and tells you how hard to hit it.
Questions
- Is this mini golf or crazy golf?
- Both: it's the same game. Crazy golf is the usual name in the UK, mini golf in most other places. Six holes of putting, with walls, obstacles and a windmill.
- What happens if I can't get it in?
- After six strokes on a hole your ball is picked up and you score 7 for that hole, so nobody is stuck on one hole for ever.
- How good is the computer?
- Easy misjudges its putts and finds the water now and then; Medium plays about par; Hard reads the banks and slopes and usually two-putts. All three miss like people do, so every round is different.
- Can two people play on one phone?
- Yes. Choose Two players: each of you plays the hole out in turn, then the other player goes first on the next hole.
- Can I play a friend online?
- Yes: choose With a friend and send the link. You each putt on your own phone and see the other ball roll.
- Is it free?
- Yes, every game, with no account and nothing to download.
