About TriPeaks Solitaire on Suvi
TriPeaks solitaire is the quick, cheerful one: twenty-eight cards make three peaks, and you clear them by playing any free card that is one higher or one lower than the card on the waste, whatever its suit. Ace and king sit next to each other, so a run can go Q, K, A, 2. When nothing plays, turn the next card from the stock. Every card in a run scores a little more than the last, and each peak you clear scores a bonus. On Suvi the daily deal is the same for everyone and our solver wins it before it goes live, so it can always be cleared. Undo is free, a hint is there when you're stuck, and Another deal brings a new deal, checked winnable too.
How to play
- The bottom row starts face up. A card turns face up once both cards lying on it are gone.
- Play a face-up card onto the waste when it is one higher or one lower than the waste card. Suits don't matter, and ace and king count as next to each other.
- When nothing plays, tap the stock to turn its next card onto the waste. There is only one pass through the stock.
- Each card in a run scores one more than the last; turning the stock starts a new run. Clearing a peak's top card scores 15, and the last peak 30 more.
- Clear all 28 cards from the three peaks to win. Cards left in the stock don't matter.
Controls
On a phone or tablet: Tap a face-up card that is one higher or lower than the waste card, or drag it onto the waste. Tap the stock to turn a card. The cards that play right now are lifted and outlined.
On a desktop: Click a card or drag it onto the waste. Arrow keys move between the face-up cards and the stock, Enter or Space plays, D turns the stock, H is a hint and U (or Ctrl+Z) undoes.
Tips
- Before you play, look for the longest run: a 6 that leads to a 5, a 4 and a 3 is worth more than a 6 on its own.
- When two cards could go, pick the one that turns over a face-down card.
- Don't rush to clear one peak: the cards that uncover the most face-down cards matter more.
- Ace and king are next to each other, so a run can go round the corner: Q, K, A, 2.
- Turn the stock only when nothing plays: every card left in it is a fresh start later.
Questions
- Is TriPeaks solitaire free?
- Yes. The daily deal and as many other deals as you like are free, with no account and nothing to download.
- Can every deal be won?
- Not every TriPeaks deal can be won, even with perfect play: in our tests about one random deal in forty can't be cleared at all, and many more are hard to clear without seeing the face-down cards. That's why ours are checked: our solver wins today's deal before it goes live, and Another deal keeps dealing until it finds one the solver can win.
- Can a king go on an ace?
- Yes. Ace and king count as next to each other, so a king plays on an ace and an ace on a king, as in the original game.
- How does the scoring work?
- Each card you play scores its place in the current run: the first 1, the next 2, then 3 and so on. Turning the stock ends the run. Clearing the top card of a peak scores 15, and the last of the three scores 30 more. Undo takes the points back with the move.
- What does the hint do?
- It shows the next move from a winning line worked out from where you are: the card to play, or how many times to turn the stock. If there's no win left from your position, it tells you, so you know to undo.
- Can I play it on a computer?
- Yes. It works with the mouse and the keyboard as well as by touch on a phone or tablet.
