About Reversi on Suvi
Reversi is the classic disc-flipping strategy game. Two players take turns placing discs on an eight-by-eight board; every disc you place must trap a straight line of your opponent's discs between it and another of yours, across, up and down or diagonally, and every trapped disc flips to your color. When neither player can move, the one with more discs wins. On Suvi you can play Reversi online free against the computer at three levels (Easy grabs whatever flips the most, Medium knows the value of corners, Hard searches many moves ahead and plays the last fourteen moves perfectly) or against a friend on one phone. Playable squares are marked with a dot, discs really turn over, Undo takes back your move against the computer, and a hint shows the move the computer would play. Nothing to download, no account needed.
How to play
- Choose vs Computer (Easy, Medium or Hard) or Two players, and who goes first.
- Tap a square marked with a dot. Your disc must trap one or more of your opponent's discs in a straight line between it and another of your discs.
- Every trapped disc, in every direction at once, flips to your color.
- If you have no legal move, your turn is skipped and your opponent plays again.
- The game ends when neither player can move, usually with a full board. Most discs wins.
Controls
On a phone or tablet: Tap any square with a dot to place a disc. Undo and Hint sit under the board.
On a desktop: Click a dotted square, or move with the arrow keys and press Enter. U undoes, H asks for a hint.
Tips
- Corners can never be flipped. Taking one is usually worth more than any number of discs.
- Don't play on the squares diagonally next to an empty corner: they hand the corner to your opponent.
- Early on, fewer discs is often better. Keep your options open and leave your opponent with few moves.
- Edges are strong once they can't be outflanked; a lone disc on an edge can be a liability.
- Count the empty squares near the end: whoever has the last move in each region usually wins it.

Questions
- Is Reversi free to play online?
- Yes. Reversi is free in your browser against the computer at three levels, with two players on one phone, or with a friend online, and there's no account to make. Your record at each level is saved on this device.
- Can I play against a friend?
- Yes. Two players can share one phone, passing it after each move, with both names and the score at the top. To play someone on their own phone, choose Online with a friend and send them the invite link. You don't make an account; it asks once for your date of birth, and online play is for 13 and over.
- How good is the computer?
- Easy plays like a beginner and grabs whatever flips the most. Medium looks a few moves ahead and values corners. Hard thinks much further ahead and, once fourteen squares are left, works out the best possible finish exactly.
- What happens if I can't move?
- Your turn is skipped automatically and your opponent plays again; a note tells you when it happens. If neither player can move, the game ends and the discs are counted.
- Who goes first?
- You choose: you, your opponent, or random. Whoever moves first starts on the two diagonal squares of their color in the center.
- Can I undo a move?
- When you play the computer, yes: Undo takes back your move and its reply, flips included. In a two-player game every move stands, as it would on a real board.
