About Reversi on Suvi
This page opens online Reversi with a friend. Send a link and play on your own phones, wherever you both are: your friend taps it and the game starts. No account and no download; online play asks once for a date of birth (it isn't open to under-13s), rooms are invite-only and there is no typed chat, just a few friendly set phrases. Every flip plays out on both phones, and the disc count updates as you go. Rematches keep a running score, so a weekly game with a grandchild, a sister abroad or an old friend becomes a fixture. Nobody free right now? Play the computer at three levels, or pass one phone between two.
How to play
- Choose vs Computer (Easy, Medium or Hard) or Two players, and who goes first.
- Tap a square marked with a dot. Your disc must trap one or more of your opponent's discs in a straight line between it and another of your discs.
- Every trapped disc, in every direction at once, flips to your colour.
- If you have no legal move, your turn is skipped and your opponent plays again.
- The game ends when neither player can move, usually with a full board. Most discs wins.
Controls
On a phone or tablet: Tap any square with a dot to place a disc. Undo and Hint sit under the board.
On a desktop: Click a dotted square, or move with the arrow keys and press Enter. U undoes, H asks for a hint.
Tips
- Corners can never be flipped. Taking one is usually worth more than any number of discs.
- Don't play on the squares diagonally next to an empty corner: they hand the corner to your opponent.
- Early on, fewer discs is often better. Keep your options open and leave your opponent with few moves.
- Edges are strong once they can't be outflanked; a lone disc on an edge can be a liability.
- Count the empty squares near the end: whoever has the last move in each region usually wins it.

Questions
- Is Reversi free to play online?
- Yes. Reversi is free in your browser against the computer at three levels, with two players on one phone, or with a friend online, and there's no account to make. Your record at each level is saved on this device.
- Can I play against a friend?
- Yes. Two players can share one phone, passing it after each move, with both names and the score at the top. To play someone on their own phone, choose Online with a friend and send them the invite link. You don't make an account; it asks once for your date of birth, and online play is for 13 and over.
- How good is the computer?
- Easy plays like a beginner and grabs whatever flips the most. Medium looks a few moves ahead and values corners. Hard thinks much further ahead and, once fourteen squares are left, works out the best possible finish exactly.
- What happens if I can't move?
- Your turn is skipped automatically and your opponent plays again; a note tells you when it happens. If neither player can move, the game ends and the discs are counted.
- Who goes first?
- You choose: you, your opponent, or random. Whoever moves first starts on the two diagonal squares of their colour in the centre.
- Can I undo a move?
- When you play the computer, yes: Undo takes back your move and its reply, flips included. In a two-player game every move stands, as it would on a real board.
