About Falling Blocks on Suvi
Endless is the falling block puzzle the way it has always worked: a fresh random run every time, faster every ten lines, until the stack reaches the top. Your best score stays on this device. The daily is the one everyone shares; this is the one for beating yourself.
How to play
- Press Play. A piece appears at the top and starts to fall.
- Slide it left or right and turn it so it fits the stack below.
- Fill a whole row from side to side and it clears. Clear several at once for more points.
- Hold a piece back for later if it doesn't fit now; the next piece is shown at the top.
- Daily: clear 25 lines. Endless: keep going as it speeds up.
Controls
On a phone or tablet: Tap the board to turn the piece, drag sideways to move it, drag down to bring it down faster and flick down to drop it. The buttons under the board do the same: hold, left, turn, right and drop.
On a desktop: Left and right arrows move, the up arrow (or X) turns, Z turns the other way, the down arrow brings it down faster, space drops it, C holds it, P pauses.
Tips
- Keep the stack flat: a bumpy surface leaves gaps that are hard to fill.
- Leave one column open at the side and save the long straight piece for it: four rows at once scores most.
- Use hold for the piece that won't fit now, and swap it back in when the gap appears.
- Watch the landing guide: the shaded columns show exactly where the piece will rest.
- When it gets fast, drop with the button rather than waiting for it to fall.
Questions
- Is Falling Blocks free?
- Yes. The daily and Endless are free with no account and nothing to download.
- Are the pieces the same for everyone?
- In the daily, yes: everyone gets the same pieces in the same order that day, so your time and score compare fairly. Endless is a new random run every time.
- Does it get faster?
- Yes. Every ten lines takes you up a level, and each level the pieces fall a little faster.
- What happens if the stack reaches the top?
- The game ends. Once per game you can clear the top of the stack and keep going, free while Suvi is new.
- Can I play it on a computer?
- Yes. It works with the keyboard (arrows, space and C) as well as by touch on a phone or tablet.
